I've lost and found my Wenoka knife twice. The squeeze mechanism is clean but not robust enough to stay in-place. I'm going to try the bungie idea since I like the size of the knife and want it on my torso/BCD for easy access in case of entanglement.

abpat:
Its a great knife with an easy fix to the poor locking system. Purchase a 4" to 5" thin, looped bungee cord. Attach the cord through the hole at the bottom of the handle. While sheathed, pull cord down and hook over the tip of the sheath. This will secure the knife. The blade is easily removed. Give it a try.

This is a great way to hold any knife reliably in a sheath. Note that you can use the loop which secures the knife also as a lanyard: unhook the loop from the sheath and loop it around your wrist. This way, if you need to free your hands, just drop the knife and you won't loose it. Also, if you're diving in the open ocean or on a deep wall, you don't have to worry about *really* loosing your knife.

There's a photo on how to rig this here:

Sorry to hear the squeeze lock has some issues. I think I will stick with the Wenoka Z-lock, those knives could be taken apart to be cleaned properly.
