My mistake, it's a torus 17.

The 30 pound wing I have is wider and I think squarer than the new ones, and has a nylon strap that goes through the cambands and then fastens using a nylon quick-release buckle. It's not as convenient as the newer arrangement where there are separate windows for the upper and lower cambands.

Your LCD 30 is one of the 100 produced. 10+ years old at this point. The overall shape has changed a little, but not significantly. The major changes are the windows vs the center webbing, and the upgrade from 12 mil to 30 mil urethane film for the bladders.

I'd dive it 'till it cries uncle. :)

DGX Transplate SS and Voyager wing. Only one dive so far, lots of dialing in to do, which is part of the fun.

Oxycheq SS plate and 30 lb. Mack V wing - like its trim profile
Halcyon AL plate and STA

Halcyon SS (bought used!) + Oxycheq 40
and now for travel
Oxycheq soft travel BP + Oxycheq 30 (worked fine with AL 80.)

I dive a Kydex DSS plate with a LCD20 wing. I'm diving a Faber galvanized HP100. With a 5 mil wetsuit and 5 mil gloves, booties and hood and neutrally buoyant fins and deep6 regs I am a bit heavy at the end of the dive. At 100 feet I have a mostly full wing. I can feel it tightening up along the sides of my back but it is not venting from the opv. This is in fresh water and I'm 6'3" and 185 lbs. My point is that if I was using a SS plate I don't think the 20 lb wing would even work at depth.

I feel like the advice I got from Tobin in regards to using the Kydex plate and the 20 lb wing was spot on. In the sea with an AL80 and a 3 mil or less wetsuit it is also very properly set up but I could use a SS plate in that instance instead of diving with 4-6 lbs of lead. I would not want to dive it fresh water with no wetsuit with the steel tanks. In that case I would opt for more wing. Fortunately where I dive locally it is always cold at the deeper depths so I won't be using my steelies and no wetsuit.

What were the DGX and Piranha BPs made of? Did the LP plate just wear out or dissolve completely?

the lp plate has some weird surface staining/corrosion that i haven't seen on my other plates. haven't had the same issue with the dgx plate and oms plate that are both passivated. pretty sure those are also 304.
