TC, there's my problem. The item doesn't look shiny green to me. It looks diaphanous, so I'm thinking more along the lines of an egg sack of some sort. Perhaps it is merely that I'm not able to get as good a look at the picture as I need to do.

It occurs to me thst because of the black background the picture was taken on a night dive, which makes all the more sense that the crab intends to feed rather than just defensively move the item.

Clearly it is an evil pumpkin mask for holloween the crab intends to wear.

Clearly! :D

After taking a look at SailNaked's blow-up, I agree, it probably is a Evil Pumpkin Mask.

Seriously, it probably is an egg sack. Either the crab's (I don't know Arrow Crab reproduction, though), or it's soon to be dinner.

Ditto Sea Pearl. The crab's probably picking tidbits off it to munch on. Arrow crabs are cool that way.
