Um. Its a sea tongue?

Must be some sorta nudi. It's very cool. Great find, UP.
 
Looks like either a thecosomatan, or a gymnosomatan. The former has a shell, the latter does not. I don't see enough gymnosomatans to reliably differentiate them from photos.

Dang, and I just bought that Pacific jellyplankton book too. Where'd I stick that bloody thing...

My vote is for the Gastropteron pacificum.... Pacific wingfoot snail. I think I've heard these types of critters called a bubble snail or sea angel or sea butterfly. Its always cool to look out, change your focus & see strange things like this keeping you company on your safety stops.
 
Yup I agree its a sea Butterfly awesome pic of him too! some can get as big as a basketball....... Hey who turned out the lights?
