Where are the fish?

I ran across an interesting article today about overfishing in Indonesia. Because it's country-specific (though could apply to any country with indigenous local fishing), and we dive Indonesia every year, I posted it here ...

It has been my impression that the number of reef fish off Maui has dropped steadily during the 7 years I've been diving there. A year or so ago, I came across a scientific article that confirmed my suspicions.

We cannot continue to regard the ocean as an inexhaustible resource, because it isn't. How we feed our ever-increasing population, though, will be anybody's guess. Soylent Green ring a bell?
