Has anyone read 'Getting Clear on the Basics: The Fundamentals of Technical Diving' by Jablonski, as well as his book called 'Doing It Right: The Fundamentals of Better Diving'?

Is the one mostly an update of the other? Are they both worth reading for a newbie? Is the DIR one a better introduction than the Basics? Any other comments?

Thanks,

-k

The latter is reasonably high-level, but definitely worth a read for the new diver ... or even the moderately experienced recreational diver wishing a different perspective on a great many things you learn through the "traditional" agencies.

I'd recommend it ...

Yes ~ I have them both ( I've read them too :D )

No ~ one is not the update of the other. The Fundamentals of Better Diving is the DIRf course book... and is about the fundamental principles of DIR.

The Fundamentals of Technical Diving is the Tech 1 course book ... and is more advanced.

Cool, Thanks! I just ordered the Doing It Right: Fundamentals of Better Diving book and anxiously await it's arrival.
