This reg was recently serviced at SP Japan's servicing facility.

MK25, air2 and G250 ¥30,000 (@$300) MK25 115 PSI full tank, the G250, well you can see. I detected zero lube, I broke the case trying to undo the jam nut, looks like I'll be giving away a G250V as the reg was not mine, poo.

That is after servicing and an authorized service center?
 
That needs to be exposed. That is a serious breech of trust, and in an industry that obsesses over liabilities and lets lawyers dictate business decisions this is nuts. How a manufacture service center could turn that out is crazy. Do you have any info on the history since service?
