Based on a lot of research - I have just ordered an XXL Dive Rite Transpac II with Rec wing. I will let you know how that works out. I have a 53" waist - so a back inflation vest with adjustable waist strap was the best choice for me. I used an adjustabe DUI BC in my confined water and OW dives. It was nice - but the Transpac seems a little more expandable for my future diving needs - for instance I can adjust to handle doubles (at these prices - I don't want to buy another one in a few years!) Everyone who has one seems to love it.

Syruss32 - you can also get a weight belt harness type thing if your weights keep slipping down.

Can't think of the real name for them but they are like braces (what you Americans call suspenders I think though to us Europeans that conjurs up a whole set of different images!!) I think Dive Rite make some.

They have a quick release, rip cord type affair for getting them off when getting into boats and for those emergency situations if the need arises (hopefully not)

I hope you got some sense out of that ramble!

Jonathan
