Sorry, my imagination must live in a different gutter from yours. The only way I can imagine knocking someone's reg out while doing a breaststroke pull is if I were aiming to knock the reg out of their mouth.

Full disclosure: I used to be good at breaststroke back when I swam.

Think about how people think the breaststroke is swam vs how it's supposed to be done.... More snow angel than actual breast stroke

I'm going to invent Hand Fins! They will be all the rage in about 6 months and I'll be sipping martini's on the beach counting money. :yeahbaby:

Breast stroke uw won't knock someone's reg out if you are diving solo. If not, you have a buddy to help you with cramping.

If someone you know is using their hands improperly during diving, tell them to hold their gauges.

Interestingly enough, this same trick does not work with a flashlight for a night dive.....

You’d think they were trying to signal a UFO landing.

Yeah those million billion terrifyingly unleashed lumens

If i only did know that excuse last week after my first DPV dive. My light was all over the place :).

The total ban on hands rather belongs to the basic scuba discussions forum. There are different ways to use hands for propulsion and steering. You can do a helicopter turn more efficiently when giving your fins a hand. One may do a lot of pulling and gliding in high flow caves or on wrecks. Swimming sideways in a crab mode also requires hands. You just have to learn not to disturb silt with hand movements.
