Wreck Diving in Nassau?

I have read most of the threads and the reality is - a buddy has a condo- His wife is pregnant and he is a rookie. My wife and I are there for free - So I am on my way in 2 days for a week.

The question is: What outfitters service anything other than cattle dives?

I know that there are sweet spots in the Bahamas, but leaving from Nassau, who are the operators?

(I have no intrest in dropping crazy coin to sit on the bottem and dive with sharks- me and my 2 closest friends- I'd rather meet them on a night dive)

Anybody got any insight besides don't bother??

Thanks

Vin

...but I think it applies. My wife and I dove with DiveDiveDive on Coral Harbor, on New Providence (Nassau) in May 1999. We dove the Willaurie wreck, about 175' long in 50' water, it's a cool wreck. You can swim into the cargo hold quite safely. I actually did that dive as a night dive first, then daytime the next morning (just coincidence, but fun).

There is also a Cessna airplane wreck, the James Bond "Thunderball" Vulcan bomber wreck, and a couple others. I believe DiveDiveDive will take you to all of them.

I was actually looking on this site for any newer reports from divers who went with them lately. Their web site http://www.divedivedive.com is still there, and they were a nice bunch of people, good guides, safe, etc. Give 'em a call! Not at all a cattleboat op.

At least a couple more large wrecks sunk since then-- the Carib Breeze, and the Ray of Hope. Ray of Hope is best-- three levels of penetration, 200 ft long, and it is sunk in the same area that they do shark feeds-- on my last trip in June, I saw more approx 10- 12 Caribbean reef sharks and two Nurse Sharks. I recommend Nassau Scuba Centre (smaller op) or Stuart Cove ( extremely large op).

I will be going with them on a dive next week and will give you my impressions. Note that they only accept cash or travelers checks.
