Greetings Y'all,
I don't know if any of you will have any interest in this but I told the organizer I would post it. Here is the deal. I am using my power boat to help out with the swimmers but they are looking for people with kayaks to go out and row along side the swimmers to be able to get closer than the boats. They are paying $400 for power boats and $150 for kayakers. It is going to be an all day event starting in St. Pete at 7 am and finishing up by the Courtney Campbell whenever the swimmers are done. It's a 24 mile race. The event is held on April 19th so there is a little time to decide if you want to help.
All of the swimming takes place in the bay so the water shouldn't be that rough. I'm sure you diehard yak divers can take it. I am posting the organizers contact info in case any of you are interested. When you get in touch with him just tell him that Ken Mejean told you about it. He will know who I am.

The event is listed at Distance Matters, Inc. Home page and the guys contact info is (727) 531-7999. It is the 11th Annual 24 Mile Marathon Swim.

Thanks Y'all.

I can't help that weekend myself, but I forwarded it to my kayak dive club.

Sounds like fun, I'll check my schedule
