Okay...I understand the reasoning behind the right sided principle. Is this a Hograthian or DIR standard?

I tried wearing my buckle towards my right side, but it digs slightly towards my lower hip. I don't cave dive. I don’t scooter, nor will I use my buckle to secure a light canister. Also, there's no chance of accidental buckle release by my crotch strap, because my crotch strap loop is secured behind my buckle by my waist strap and it will not move. So what are the other advantages for wearing the buckle towards the right? If I were to wear my buckle at the center, can I still safely dive wrecks?

Thanks in advance for any comments.
