Yoke vs. DIN

This is totally wrong. Both Yoke and 230bar DIN are more than good enough for handling 3442psi - HP tank. Unless you plan to use tank with higher pressure. DIN is more secured because of the way the connection is made, nothing to do with operating pressure, at least in US.

Slight technical comment: 3442 psi is technically not HP but MP. 3500psi cylinders are considered to truly be HP and in addition to having 7/8" UNF threads have 7 thread DIN valves (aka 300 bar). That said though 5 thread DIN valves (aka 200 bar) are plenty strong enough for higher pressures. 3442 psi cylinders came about so they could be under 3500 psi limit which allow 3/4" valves and could be yoke or DIN.

To the OP for the time being get yoke reg. It will work for the vast majority of your diving. Most regs can easily be converted later to DIN if needed.
