Hi there, not having learned the GUE or HOG system of diving but interested in the principals, what would you guys say are the disadvantages of diving with a hybrid BP/W such as the zeagle express tech?

It's not really a hybrid. It is a back plate- all be it nylon with what is basically a single 2" web harness that various wings can be attached to (and not just Zeagle wings) so it meets all the criteria of a BP/wing. Any attachment that can be connected to other BPs still works. It's not going to be as stable as a solid plate and there is no negative buoyancy like a steel plate, otherwise there is little difference. It's pretty much the same as a Kydex plate in many respects.

Thanks Herman.
