As I understand it, you only need to depressurize when lowering IP, not when raising IP. When you adjust to increase IP the valve is being opened to let more air into the LP chamber, so no risk to the HP seat. When you're lowering IP, the valve is closed, so you increase pressure and risk damaging the HP seat when the LP chamber stays at higher IP while the opposing forces are lowered. Purging the 2nd stage while lowering IP slowly might be ok, as you're equalizing the LP chamber while adjusting.

What is the IP? Your drysuit doesn't really care what the 1st stage IP is.

Unless it's way off, I wouldn't bother messing with it, particularly without any experience doing so.

There should be an OPV one of the LP ports in case the IP takes off unexpectedly.

Drysuit does not care, I fully agree. Nevertheless I'd like to use an IP which is in the regulators range.

Sounds good. But can I be sure about it? I do not want do dammage a regulator which got new service.

Talking about any Apeks reg and every diaphragm reg I've ever encountered.
