As mentioned before the water was about 64-66 degrees, with the air temps in the 70s. Hardly a cloud in the sky, and just a few 1-2 foot waves on the surface. The viz varied from as little as 5 feet up to 25 feet at times, with the norm right around 15 feet like Ty already mentioned.

The first dive to the Tabletop Ledge was very enjoyable, plenty of life with the viz usually around 15 feet. Most of time I spent playing around with my new camera, while my buddy got use to diving in something other than a quarry.

Second dive was on Two Tabletops, as well as one "two lost fins." My new Jetfins turned out to be one size too large (still not sure if I ordered that size...) so I lost a fin once at the start of the dive, and once just as I was preparing to get out after the dive. The viz here was a lot more varied, with some pockets of clear water, and other areas with only a few feet. Most of the time it was in the 10-20 foot range. The site itself wasn't as nice as the first site, but there were more things to see. Decent amount of life, and a variety of coral. Got a little lost, but we'll blame that on Mark, he was the one leading the dive. I thought it was pretty warm, but Mark (and Amanda?) were cold and ended up surfacing after 30 minutes due to cold.

Third dive we missed the ledge completely. Just sandy bottom and feeding fish with Vanilla Wafers. The fish didn't seem too excited about the food, but it gave me a chance to get use to diving with a camera in my hands.

It was a nice day, and I'm already looking forward to my next Florida trip, and we haven't even left.

A few of the better pictures from the dives.

Yes it was a very nice dive trip, yes I got lost but remember I'm used to caves that have a line, walls and a ceiling. I'm also directionally challenged in the ocean so 2 out of 3 ain't bad even though they were circles of rock. Yes I got cold after and that was due to either the fact I had a WET SUIT on instead of my dry suit ( like Geoff ) or that Amanda and I spent a little extra time looking for and finding your lost fin :) As for the fish not liking the vanilla wafers what can I say.

I really enjoyed the day and the company from everyone.

I'm just picking on ya, no big deal. I got kinda lost in the Keys two days later if it makes you feel better.

Oh, and for the record, I made up for you guys finding my lost fin by going down after the dive to find the exact same fin, in pretty much the exact same place it fell the first time.

I guess the birds liked the vanilla wafers, but the fish only seemed curious, not overly interested.

the fish were probably made that it was only nilla wafers, they wanted a whole banana pudding. Probably sweet tea too, I mean technically they are southern fish...

Would an RC cola and a moon pie work too?

of course, but you have to be careful of the Moon Pie Shark, the vanilla subspecies is especially nasty. Amazingly though they swim backwards....

...you're gonna dive dry, with this drysuit that you always talk about but never seem to dive?

-Geoff

I have seen the drysuit. It is not a fantasy. It takes him a while to get it on though. If your in a wetsuit you get to sit and wait for him for a while. haha
