I was originally planning to go with AL Legend LX setup but decided to take another look around. How does Oceanic Delta 4 or Oceanic EOS (DVT versions) compare to Legend/Legend LX with ACD? One thing's for sure - I can save a bundle on Oceanic (or so it seems). Do Oceanics come with free lifetime parts, as well? Thanks.

Those 2 Oceanic regs are in the group of regs that perform so well that it just a matter of personal preference. If the reg is comfortable in your mouth you are highly likely to be more than satisfied with the performance.
Oceanic does have a free parts program if you keep up on annual maintainence.

you might want to look at the apex ds4 xtx 50 or scubapro mk17 g250v they are great regs

Would it matter to you if the US Navy, NOAA and the US Coast Guard have tested regs and chosen the Delta4/CDX5 as their regulator of choice for cold water diving?

I bought this reg for my wife without the swivel and without DVT

The way they choose weapons (guns) is, they narrow the choice down to 3 or 4, then see which manufacturer will give them the best deal. It was between Berreta and Sig Sour. Sig won. Im sure the Regs went the same same way.I have four Legend LXs and couldnt be happier.

i would give you multiple thanks for that but there is a limit of one, actually depends on the branch of military and era, they jump between colt, sig, baretta, and H&K. either one you hear no complaints on other than personal issues like ohh this gun is heavier ohh this guns sites are a little wierd or they dont like the layout. the military chooses from some of the better equipment on the market for its standard then of the top certain amount depending on application and price select it from that for each branch and situation, im sure youll find other companies in military circulation but the delta4 is probably the standard then they move to others for specialized applications like ice

True. And the Legend Lx ACD is great for ice diving as well. They are both great Regs. Any decision made wont be the wrong one. I obviously prefer the Legend Lx or I wouldn't have 4. I also have 5 Sigs 1 H&K and 1 Glock and 1 Springfield Armory.

Actually it is the Delta 4 FDX10 the CDX5 first stage is paired with the GT3 second stage.
Their choice was based on superior cold water performance. I believe they replaced the Sherwood Maximus and Blizzard which have a long history as rock solid cold water workhorses.
In addition to the cold water reliability the Delta 4 has overall breathing effort among the best tested.
These tests were performed before the introduction of the Oceanic EOS which shares the FDX10 first stage. Also because of licensing contracts the swivel hose is now on the EOS instead of the Delta 4.

I like you gun choices better than you reg choices but the Glocks don't fit my hand properly. My favorites is my Springfield Micro Operator but I also have a Colt Mustang Pocketlite that I favor for concealment.
