I just saw the new scuba-pro g260 on the website. Does anybody have any insight as to how this is different than the g250v?
The G260 is smaller than the G250V. It has the new left or right hose attachment option.

The G260 is a very nice looking reg.

Will it be better than the G250V?

So scubapro is not making the g250V anymore?

Not for a few years, then it will be re-released as, hmmmm, what would follow "Vintage"? G250"Legacy"..... oh heck, I don't know.... I'm an engineer, not a marketer.........

I heard the rumor from a dive shop that supposedly the G260 by ScubaPro was originally designed for Halcyon, but they didn't like it. As a result, Halcyon bought the exclusive rights/license for the G250V off of ScubaPro. So ScubaPro ended up "discontinuing" the ScubaPro version of the G250V and just recently started selling the G260.

The Halcyon regs are rebadged ScubaPros.

Is it the same size as the S600. One of the strengths of Scubapro is that when they find a good design, they pretty much stick with it. They don't introduce a bunch of whimsical changes that might market well but provide little or mo benefit. So, what diaphragm in the g260 using? Same as the G250 or S600? If not, then that sounds like a departure from a fairly successful Scubapro philosophy that would give me second thoughts

So if the rumor made sense why would they make a switchable left-right barel ?

Good Question.

I'll check.

I am with you on this. I would imagine that Scubapro would want to sell the switchable reg themselves to compete against Apeks. I could see them selling the marking rights to the G250 to Halcyon. From my understanding designing a switchable reg is fairly simple, however it costs a bundle to make the tooling. So I don't see Scubapro delivering a completed product to Halcyon and then having it rejected by them.
