I responded to an add on Craigslist about some tanks for sale. As it turned out all of these where Faber steel tanks, manufactured in 1997, last Hydro was done in 2003. All of them have air in them and where from a dive shop in Oregon. Tanks are clean and do not have any dents, scratches or other marks that would indicate damage. The five tanks consisted of the following;
2, 65 cf, 2400 psi
2, 98 cf, 2400 psi and
1, 112 cf, 2400
and to top it off got a 30 cf, 3000 psi pony, all for $200.

I know they all need Hydro and Vis, but since I work at a shop, I can get these done fairly cheap.

So, do you think I did OK or did I just buy some expensive decorations and weights. Please let me know your thoughts, concerns or worries about these tanks and what I need to look for.

I think so Even if you only get 1 or 2 good one you are still a head . hopefully they are not all trashed out in side . I bought a HP100 AND it was just hydro-ed and viz done 2 months earlier got them to my LDS to fill them all the way up and the LDS manager (a friend of mine ) said u should pop the top and give it a quick look see good thing the tank was real rusted and a couple teaspoons full of water . he spent 3 weeks trying many different things to save it . but no go (boat anchor) good thing thow The guy I bought it from gave me the money back and said he was going the LDS that he bought it from and give them a piece of his mind (one of the instructors sold it to him 2 weeks be for he sold it to me ( he had gotten a good deal on a LP120 THAT HE PREFERRED I HOPE YOU GET AT LEAST YOUR MONEYS WIRTH

2400psi rating is not a lot, my Luxfer's are 3000psi and all Faber's I own is 3300psi

Tanks out for hydro now. Requested + rating. Upon taking the valves out, none of them had any water in them and they looked good so far. Can't wait to get all the final results back, cause if all 5 are good, I have a hard choice to make as to which tanks I keep.

If you only get the two 95's you have a great deal. They are my favorite tanks. @adj it is not the pressure, it is the volume and buoyancy that counts. 2400 psi is a great pressure as you rarely if ever have short fills and the buoyancy characteristics full and empty (at least of the 95's) are great.

From a tech diver this statement puzzles me ????
