Based on the comments below the news article, it doesn't sound like she made it. Such a tragedy - she was very young. I heard she was an open water student, but that is just hearsay. A friend of mine was at the lake this weekend and told me about it.

For people who knew her, there is one hell of a Facebook memorial page set up by someone also strangely known as "FB." Suzanne had many many friends. The Facebook group is already up to over 300 members and growing fast.

I hope if someone finds out more info about what happened they'll post it here. The Cozumel sub-forum thread about it has some info, but kind of gets buried in the threads about where to stay and which Dive Ops to use.

:confused: Killer lobsters? Why do so many die? Sorry, but as a newbie diver I'm not sure why it's dangerous. I also don't see why hunting for lobsters would be fun - just head on over to a nice seafood restaurant, cheaper than diving.

It's entirely possible, and am trying to be fair and acknowledge that the divers had some responsibility to be ready, but Diver1 hadn't said that she felt sick on this dive (the first dive after a lunch break on land) and Diver2 specifically mentioned the unclipped hoses and expressed concern...
