Thanks so much Jeff. I think i understand the principle and the beauty of that system but how about for us people who have not had any training on compass use much more situational awareness that UTD can build on? Does that mean i have to resort to getting PADI's specialized underwater...

Hi Mayor, actually....GUE does have it, if you download the latest standards and practice document they have on their website version 6.2, their REC1 and REC2 courses have it listed as part of their required dive skills and drills. i ask because navigation was barely touched in my OW...

Hi guys I was looking at the UTD website and the different courses and i cant seem to find any mention of underwater navigation. There is no specialty like PADI so i went through the course curriculum for essentials, rec1 rec2 and rec3 and i cant seem to find it (either that or i missed it big...

hi karl, i actually found a good supplier for the crates, i just have to meet her since she lives far from where i am. i think her crates are a few inches small though i think internal dimensions are 20 x 14 x 10 i think the normal crates are 23 inches in length. i like that these are closed...

just came from aquamundo hehe and i got the agilas with the spring straps....i tried the ventec fin and although they fit A LOT better than the agilas (i think the agilas and sp jets should really be upgraded with a more agreeable foot pocket design) they are very very flexible and they look to...

hi matt...thanks for chiming in. i read that as well that thrust just isnt the same (agila vs jets and oms vs jets) but i also read that the agila and oms are just a tad tad ahead in terms of control...how true is that based on your own experience? have you also used the ventec fins? any...

i looked at the backpacks but they seem to be still a tad bit small...ideally i can get 2 sets of gear inside the bag but if not 1 bag for each set is doable i think. gear would have to include bcd, fins, wetsuit, booties, gloves, mask...i saw some big bags over at divers point last saturday...

hi doncebu! those bags look nice to bring onboard the boats but what if i want to transport 2 sets of bcds, fins, mask, wetsuit, regulators hehehehe etc etc (like booties swimsuits etc). im looking at getting a bag that my wife and i can use to travel and my back carrying everything for the 2...
