Had another fantastic dive with Captains Jim and Pat at Boston Scuba today! A little bit of rain didn't dampen anyone's spirits as we had good vis with no current for the first dive and everyone nearly bagged their limit. The second dive was work but those gallon bags got completely topped off...
I can recall at least two presentations in which one well known NE diver insisted that there have been NO substantial improvements in fins since the good ol'days when they used to screw plywood to the bottoms of old tennis shoes.:D
Just a thought, you might give Fort Sewall in Marblehead a try. Sheltered, good parking, easy entry and occasional finds from the old restaurant. I've picked up a couple of bottles from about 1900 - 1913 in this area.
Sounds interesting, but I see that Camp Dennison is adjacent and allows canoe / kayaking but does not allow swimming. If all of the water is under park control this might be an issue.
Season starts Jan 1st and ends Dec31st. Time to get some use out of your DS cert! DUI Dog Days is May 5th and 6th at Stagefort Park in Gloucester, good time to meet some folks. Also, come on by to a meeting at the NE Aquarium dive club.
Went out with Jim and Pat on the 3rd, had a wardrobe malfunction aka suit flood and only managed to bring back dinner for two. Went out today and managed to bag the limit! With scallops at $15 to $17 per lb today was both fun and profitable - now we don't have to buy them for Christmas Eve...
Boston Scuba in East Boston is a great shop and the open water dives are done off their boat.

A look at my dive log from years past shows temps of about 45 deg. into the first week of December several times.
As for when to change over - I haven't worn a wetsuit except in the pool for at least 4 years, just much less insulation for shallow dives. 45 deg is about where I switch from wet...
I figured it would be you or ScubaSaurus that would have the answer! Thank you. Now the next question is if you can recommend another reference material that would have helped for this?
Hi all,
I spotted these fish at about 12 feet in the eel grass not far from the boat ramp. They were about 2 inches long and fairly abundant. The lateral stripe and spot on the dorsal fin were very distinct on most but muted on some which I assume were females. I found no matches on the REEF...
bwade is half right. You shouldn't have pried the carving off. You should have gotten some friends together, come back with lift bags and taken the whole boat! Possibly restored to it's former glory,THAT would be a conversation piece!

He does commercial work, had the contract to clear the UW area beneath the Museum of Contemp Art for the high divers 2 weeks ago and also runs scallop diving charters.
Hi Dave,
Beaver County Day School had several bus loads of kids and teachers on snorkling trips up to Folly on Thursday. Based on the numbers the mask you found probaly belongs to one of them though I doubt if they would be on SB.
I went out with Megaladon Charters in June and had a great time with them. My daughter and I came back from the 2 dives with over 250 sharks teeth, some stingray barbs, assorted pieces of whale bone and 1 horse tooth. If you are used to NE diving the temps and visibility are not likely to bother...
Congratulations! Buy why are you waiting until March? There are some spots like Fort Sewall in Marblehead that you can dive now with excellent parking that you can't dive in the boating months. Ft Weatherill in RI is also a nice winter dive and lunch at the Brew Pub or in Newport afterwards...
