    Kayak Diving

What time of year will you be there? I'm not sure I'd want to try and kayak through the channels in the reef in rough seas, which occur a lot in the East End.

Question about eating near the airport

You can walk to the Barcadere from the airport, don't waste money on a cab! It's about half a mile and much closer than the Mango Tree. Good food, nice setting and you can kill some time with a wander around the marina checking out the boats.

Will be staying in Bodden Town - any recommendation for Dive Operators?

Actually OF don't bring a boat around for their Kittiwake trip, we operate that trip for them (Wall to Wall Diving) departing from our shop/dock "The Lobster Pot Dive Center" on the Northside of Georgetown. If you are diving with OF and the Tuesday trip doesn't work for you we can get you out...

You have one dive on Grand Cayman before you die, what site would you dive?

"Big Billy's Meat Pie" at the end of July. It's a special anchor drop that we do on the North wall. I could tell you where it is but then I would have to kill you all!

1st timer, going to Cayman Islands , want to take scuba lessons

Most dive shops here in Grand Cayman are PADI affiliated. PADI limits the ratio of students to instructors to 4:1 for Discover Scuba Diving courses so you shouldn't ever be in a large group for this course.

Looking for one tank dive March 21, 2011 grand cayman

You will have trouble finding anyone that will do a 1-tank trip in the mornings here. Everyone tends to be running 2-tank trips in the mornings and some do 1-tank afternoon trips. Depending on how many divers you have your best bet may be to charter a boat for a morning 1-tank. Prices start from...

    Kittiwake Night Dives

I'm not sure it will really be worth night diving yet except for the "spookiness" factor! It will need time for critters to get established on the wreck. So far we have just been seeing a few fish starting to hang out, most notably a large barracuda who seems to be enjoying the shade! That...

Diving or snorkeling in Stingray City?

Since the introduction if the new "Wildlife Interaction Zones", which were created to protect the stingrays, it is actually illegal for tourists to feed the stingrays themselves. Only your dive/snorkel crew are supposed to be feeding the rays. If you don't have food in your hands you don't have...

"Did you know" ... that Grand Cayman has awesome shore diving

You can get your own tanks filled at The Lobster Pot Dive Center or Pure Air Ltd. No problem as long as the tanks have all current hydro and visual inspections.

    Situation with a happy ending

The boat and the dive was at Stingray City. When the seas get rough outside the reef they push water over the reef which creates what can be a very strong current that runs along the inside of the reef and then out through the channel next to Stingray city. It is possible to get caught in this...

    North Wall conditions in Nov/Dec?

If you really want to dive the North wall then the best time to come is the summer months (May through mid October) and the best place to stay would be the West side. Typically in November/December we get stronger winds out of the Northeast which make North wall diving difficult. We dive the...

    USS Kittiwake-Grand Cayman

You'll need to hang around for a least a couple of weeks. It seems as though Sport Diver has got it wrong. The official sinking date is the 27th July. Dedication ceremonies and topside tours on the 26th July. First "tourist" divers will be on the morning of the 29th July. You can buy a spot on...

    Info on dive op boats

I don't want to blow my own trumpet but as the owner of Wall to Wall Diving our philosophy has always been to provide small group diving with big boat comfort and amenities. 8 divers max and 36ft and 32ft boats, both with camera tables and dedicated camera rinse buckets, fresh water showers etc...

Grand Cayman- Sunset House or Sunshine Suites

Sunshine suites is a much better location both for the beach and restaurants/nightlife. Whilst not on the beach it is directly across the road from one of the best stretches of Seven Mile Beach and has many bars and restaurants within walking distance. Why would you dive with Red Sail Sports? Is...

New Lionfish Eradication Effort in Cayman

Who do you think the wealthy foreigners are buying this property from at unaffordable levels? Most locals are quite happy to sell a piece of their birthrights if the price is right. As far as the Lionfish go I believe most people are aware that we will never be able to eradicate them but...
