How about I just bring a cast net and we'll round up the slow pigeons?

So is the Turkey Fry a kid-friendly thing? (Other than the actual frying of a turkey, of course, lol) DH and I would love to meet everyone...but we'll have our little guys with us (2, two and half year-old boys) We are spending the week at St. Pete Beach, so we would be a bit closer than normal. How far is Venice Beach from the St. Pete area?

So is there diving from the beach? Sorry if I'm clueless, but this is new to me. Are most of you all just planning to meet and hang out, or is everyone going to try and dive, too? How does it normally work?

Looking forward to hopefully meeting up with y'all...

Yes, very kid friendly.

Venice beach is about 45 minutes south of St. Pete, and there is diving from the beach (with the exception of any Scubaboard party :)). It's a hot spot for shark tooth diving. If there's any vis (and that's hit or miss this time of year) there will be diving. If there's no vis, there will probably be some diving anyway.

That sounds doable...I'll double-check with DH, but I think we'll try to come. We have another fryer if that will help -- or do you already have plenty of them? I agree that it would be nice to be able to cook several at one time...

So for a strong maybe...Smatterchu, Mr. Smatterchu and the two mini chu's...

Y'all have fun... I'll be in the Dry Tortugas... :fruit:
