Did you even look into Borneo divers? I booked as a single willing to share and got the room to myself, no single supplement. Also, as I understand it they have a full allotment of permits.

yeah, they only have 14 permits and were double the price :(

I've emailed them directly again asking whether they have space and confirmation if I were to book today how many days I would get.

I think I will go with scuba junkies but it's just frustrating. I don't really want to go on a holiday for 10 days and only get two decent dive days out of it.

how good is the "other" diving I get so many mixed reviews.

I really enjoyed the other diving though it is mostly muck diving. Have a wonderful time.

If you are going with scuba junkie at mabul or mabul beach resort, they also dive the sipadan barrier reef... Ligitan island and Siamil island which really worth visiting. School of devil rays, 30-100 of them were spotted many times over the last 1-2 months. Muck diving at these 2 islands are as good as mabul too.

As for the day after your islands adventure, how about a visit to proboscis monkeys at labuk bay..

Yes, same dive operator as mentioned. The Scuba Junkie Semporna and Scuba Junkie Mabul (Mabul Beach Resort).

Go go to the diving page, scroll to bottom section... sipadan barrier reefs refers to Ligitan island and Siamil Island. :) if not mistaken, u need to b based at mabul island to dive the Sipadan barrier reefs for Scuba junkie clients.

Bit too late but here's my share.

Diving with Seaventures Dive Rig off Mabul Island for 4D3N will guarantee you at least 1 day of Sipadan permit. A couple who was staying 6D5N had 3 days Sipadan as it was quiet then and they were given the permit (as long as they're happy to pay the RM40 permit fee). Seaventures guarantee 2 days of Sipadan for 6D5N stay.
