It seemed to be pulsating in and out, as though it was feeding, so I thought it might be a sea cucumber/sea apple type thing. But maybe it's some kind of hard coral or macroalgae? Any thoughts?

It is sea cucumber / sea apple family. Body looks exactly like them if removed from rocks.


Pelagicsal....ironically I was just looking at some old videos of Cozumel on Aldora and there YOU were ..hovering next to a large grouper. You were also busy keeping lionfish in check. My son and I had a great time that week and you were one of the many nice divers we ran into.
