One of my good friends is looking to get into diving. He's been out of work for some time due to injuries from the military so the cost is currently the prohibiting factor. Are there any non-profits that support disabled vets (100% disabled) that would cover the costs at his local shop vs him having to travel to one? Or are there any in NE NC/SE VA that would be semi-local for him? Thanks so much!

Home - Patriots for Disabled Divers is a southeast Virginia org.

The big groups, SUDS, lifewaters, Dive Pirates, Task Force Dagger, will all take the diver to a destination and get them certified.

GI Bill will pay for scuba classes. You have to find an approved trainer, pay for it, and they pay you back. Some trainers will wait for payment. Those injured while serving don't generally use their GI Bill because VA disability pays for school in many cases, so the GI Bill is wasted, use it for diving!
