My Bare XCD2 "Tech Dry" was delivered yesterday. I haven't got it wet yet but thought I'd post my first impressions of it for those who might be considering this suit...
The first thing I noticed is how heavy it is, both heavy duty and just plain heavy. It weighs close to 10 lbs!
It's very well made, appears flawless in construction. Knee pads are extremely tough, radar relectors in all the right places. Valves are well placed and work nicely. Neck seal is neoprene, wrists are latex.
Downsides? Yea, a couple but some of them are me and will get better with practice and wear.
It's fairly easy to get on but a real booger to get off. I got my head stuck in it and needed wife's help to get out! That part is me, not the suit.
One part that isn't me is the pockets it comes with. They're virtually useless. A small flat open top pocket on right thigh, a weird little knife pocket thing on left thigh. If you custom order one of these, ask for no pockets and get your own installed. These are so useless I may send the suit in to have them removed and get Halcyon pockets installed (this can be done, can't it??)
All in all I like it a lot except for the pockets. Not sure when I'll get it wet but will post additional review when I do.
