I found these magnetic clips that are great. You can pull them apart and connect it back together very easily. I clip my gauge go my top right shoulder so it prevents any hose from dragging. If I need to see it all I need to do is to look down as the clip dangles it about 10cm below my shoulder. And if I need to unclip it all I need to do is to pull at it.

Come on guys. The OP asked for a generalized recreational set-up, specifically showing octo attachment positions.
DIR & Hog configurations use backups not octos.

He asked for a general setup with photos, that's what I described and posted. Just because I do not have the exact gear, such as an octo and Suunto gauge) doesn't mean I can't post an idea on something to look at.
