Press Release: Feb 7th, 2011 Santa Monica, CA

We are proud to announce the opening of Bluewater Photo, a new premiere underwater photography & video store in Southern California.

The store is run by Underwater Photography Guide owner Scott Gietler, professional underwater photographer Mark Strickland and frequently published photographer Todd Winner. The store is founded on the principles of excellent customer service.

Bluewater Photo carries inventory from more than 15 manufacturers. We have gear for every need and budget ranging from inexpensive point and shoot setups for the casual diver, to sophisticated DSLR systems for professional use, and also a range of video housings and lights. We also have systems for rent, and offer monthly underwater, nature, and beginner photography classes, and local & international trips.

Bluewater Photo is already very active in the California diving community, promoting the local dive boats and dive sites through magazine articles, classes and its workshops.

Bluewater Photo’s retail location is at 2501 Wilshire blvd in Santa Monica, California, just minutes from the 405 and 10 freeways. We also have a complete online store.

We are having a grand opening party on Feb 12th with food and drinks. A large number of items will be on sale, and over $3,300 worth of gear and local boat trips will be raffled away. There will also be free seminars given throughout the day. If you are thinking about an upgrade, a new setup, or adding a strobe or light, this event is not to be missed! You can participate in the raffle by attending the party, or by signing up for our newsletter.
