This is a great story, I am curious about the ending of the story.

Where did the owner hear about the camera being found?

Did the owner get a free flight to China?

thanks.

BTW - I am willing to fly to China to get the camera for her, since she can't get the time off of work :)

That looks like a Canon OEM housing. Makes me fell better about using one for my Powershot. Good PR for Canon, to be sure.

The Canon OEM housing has been a part of a couple such stories.....

China Airlines has offered to fly Scallan to Taiwan to be reunited with her camera, but she isn't sure if she can take time off from work since she just started a new job a week ago.
Would you as a business owner/manager allow a new employee time off?

Totally depends on a bunch of different circumstances primarily how the time off would affect the operations of the business. Seems like a good opportunity for some travel though. But there is mail or courier service that could more easily reunite owner and camera.

Agreed. However, I will say that the airline did a great job of making themselves look good to the public with that move. An inexpensive PR move that gets their name out there in a positive light. Good on them.
