I have chronic pain in joints and muscles from arthritis and an inflammatory disease. I used to stay in shape by running, lifting weights, and hiking but the older I get (47 now) the less I can tolerate those activities. I have always loved the water so I turned to swimming and scuba for help getting back into shape. I have found that when I am in the water I HAVE NO PAIN. I feel 20 years younger! Of course I can't LIVE in the water and the pain returns soon after but I have already noticed gradual improvement in pain levels.
