Canadian diver dies in Quintana Roo
A Canadian tourist drowned while diving in the ocean, off the shore of Puerto Juárez, Quitnana Roo, in front of the point that divides Cancun with the mainland of Isla Mujeres.

According to reports of the emergency number 911, the visitor was in the middle of a diving expedition in the waters of the Mexican Caribbean Sea, when around 12:20 in the afternoon he began to drown.

The diving team immediately asked for help, and security personnel called the paramedics of the Mexican Red Cross, who arrived to the area just to find out that it was too late, because the man no longer had vital signs.

Subsequently, officers of the Municipal and Ministerial police and experts of the attorney General’s office (FGE) arrived on site, who reported that the man was a Canadian tourist, who drowned while diving as he lost consciousness, which kept him underwater for too long.

The name of the deceased has not been revealed by the local authorities yet.

Odd wording. I have dove in that area. They also run a lot snorkeling trips out to that area.
