Nope, not further away but closer...here's the blurb from Inon

Both the 165 and 330 say that "high magnification close-up photography possible by shortening the close focus distance, allowing the photographer to get closer to the subject", so that doesn't really explain the difference is (that's from Inon America by the way, not Inon themselves).

But looking at the Australian importer, I had it backwards. The 165 has

Significantly more magnification than the UCL330 lens

So that might be the better way to go. (Lenses)

I often zoomed a little with the G7, and while it doesn't focus as quickly as when the lens was set to 35mm, it still did a good job.

Ryan.

Check out the close up lenses by Inon. 30cms isn't an unreasonable distance away from stuff  They are excellent value ... I used to stack two 165s when I was shooting with my Oly 5050 - loved it!

That's what I use - two Inon macro lenses stacked on my canon UW case. I do have to zoom in quite a bit, maybe 75% zoom. Not sure you would be as successfull with the Ikelite UW case (larger) with the stacked lenses probably being farther from the camera lense compared to the canon UW case. I would not even have a chance at taking photos of pigmy seahorses otherwise. The depth of field is very shallow too so you really have to be planted when you are shooting with the stacked lenses. Even then I really have to take a lot of shots to get some to come out in focus.

I have tried zooming, however it makes focus very difficult. I think I am really after a dSLR feature... I will have an experiment when my new housing arrives :) Thankyuou everyone for responding
