Catalina avalon dive park friday/saturday

Anyone going to be out, or want to come out to Catalina friday or saturday for a dive at the dive park? Maybe one or two dives on either day?

Otherwise, anyone have any advice on finding buddies there? Just show up at the dive park and see if anyone is looking or what?

Yeah, you can just pick up a buddy just asking around at the dive park, many people do that. If you are willing to spend a few extra bucks, hire a local professional dive guide. You are guaranteed to have a dive buddy that will not ruin your dive and, you will get the see the best of the dive park and all of the little things that that you might miss if you don't know about them. Choose any of the 4 dive shops on the island, they all have great guides. I am not available this weekend, but I would recommend Dave at Catalina dive and snorkel, or Ron (only Ron) at Catalina Dive Shop.

I'm going to Casino Point tomorrow for the day to dive with my wife and some friends. 6:15 AM ferry from Long Beach. We'll have a couple of big gray wheeled Stanley tool chests. You can follow us around if you can't pick up a buddy there, but there are already 4 in our group and we're going for fun diving. We might try to do the Valiant for one of the dives - TBD

Nate - looking forward to meeting you. I talked to my buddy from the east coast who we're meeting up with and he said the conditions look good - glassy smooth water. We'll see you there. I'll probably be wearing a navy blue Malibu Divers sweatshirt
