century optics W/A lens

Hi again, I have this W/A lens for my HC1 which is just 8mm deep, I've chosen it because let me fit the camcorder in a Sony spk housing but the problem is that when I plug the LANC pin the picture gets out of focus and I cannot figure out why, if I use any other lens the picture is OK. Does anybody have any idea why?
