Onward and upward: The Challenge has passed $15,000!!!

This mini-surge is led by our good friends at Hollywood Divers under the direction of Hal Wells, Bill Strong, and Karim Hamza. They give a Gold Level Challenge donation each year as well as sponsoring a boat (Westerly this year) AND taking a table at Chamber Eve. They under stand the importance of having our Chamber available 24/7/365.

We are also pleased to welcome back into the fold Silver level sponsors Angi & Ron Burkard whose donation also underscores the value of corporate matching grants. Angi works for Phillips 66/76 and they kick in another $500 to match what she and Ron gave. Be sure to check with your company to see if they also have a matching grant program.

We keep telling you that your donations help keep our Chamber available at a moments notice. And we’re sure some of you think that’s nothing more than hyperbole. And while it’s true that our Chamber doesn’t get used for treatments every single day, let me share with you what happened this past weekend.

Because there was not one, not two, not three . . . but FOUR divers who needed to be evaluated. When all was said and done, two of those divers were treated in our Chamber. And aside from the manpower and resources needed to do the treatments, then there was time and more manpower needed to clean up and restock to get the Chamber ready for the next potential diver-in-trouble.

Your donations make all of this happen and keep things running smoothly. Every dollar strengthens this safety net that divers in SoCal hope they never need but which becomes vital to their well-being when something goes wrong.

So who’s next?? Our direct link to the donation page is Payment > USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber > USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences . Who’s going to push us towards $20,000???
