I can remember about two years ago a Belmont diver died while diving the Poling off a CAD charter. I never heard of any others. I'm sure that won't be the focus of your project nor should it be. Hopefully, I'll be diving both the Poling and the U-853 this year for the first time. Good luck with your project.

I hate to say it, but Divers Down did a show a while back on the Poling. Had many of the older guys that first dove her. You may want to see if you can contact them or get a copy of that episode.
