Hi SoCal Divers

I am going on a 3-day trip to San Clemente aboard the Truth next week. What has the water temperature been recently in the area? How about the viz?

This will be my first dive trip to SoCal so I am very excited!

Cheers

1st dive trip in So Cal at San Clemente.....wow cool

Bring your 7MM wetsuit or drysuit, the water is still cold.

Definitely dry suit. All packed, leaving in a few hours for Santa Barbara....:D

We had about 50-60 feet of horizontal viz, and up to 80 vertical on Clemente the last two trips (last trip 2 weeks ago)

Temp was probably 52F deeper than 80 feet, and 55-59F shallower.

Some areas (Swiss cheese reef were supposedly blown out) but china point, arch, greenacres areas were really nice.

Check out the "sand channel" area for lots of bat rays and soupfin sharks....
