I could be very wrong, but it appears to be larger than most and not as conforming to the camera body. The way the housing closes is similar to my F3 housing and I think that it could be changed somewhat. I do like the solid feel of the Aquatica F3 housing and I wonder if the others have that too. I wonder if I could use my F3 ports on the new Aquatica. They are basically screw on and I think that's a bad design because you can't get an exactly even seal with threads.

The Aquatica F3 had a four latches system, the D700 has two latches with safety catches, it also has a four point bayonet port with lock mechanism and not a screw mount like the F3 had, so that means your older ports won't fit. the F3 was a casting process, the D700 is machined from solid billet aluminum, it has the same depth rating but at a much lighter weight.

Size wise it is +/- the same as the Hugy, Sea & Sea and Nauticam, we all have to leave some space for mechanical linkage.

If you happen to be in Montreal one day, I would be more than happy to give you a tour of the company, that goes for any Scubaboard members BTW.

If you want more detail on the process, check out this article I wrote for Dive Photo Guide, it is partial to Aquatica I must disclose, no shame there, Like DBH who is partnered to Reef photo, the distributor of Nauticam in the USA, I will toot my own horn :D.
