No, my appointments with the hyperbaric specialist were well after the symptoms had subsided. When I initially contacted DAN after the symptoms occurred for the second time (I thought the first time it happened was due to the hot weather/sweating?), they didn’t think it was related to DCS or that I needed to get recompressed, but recommended that I go see a diving medicine specialist, which I did.

Literally as I am typing this I noticed the onset of tingling in my legs again; my last dive was over the weekend when I was doing my rescue course (very short and shallow dives, followed by one 25 min dive at max 8m) and my hyperbaric specialist will see me tomorrow first thing in the morning…sigh
This is good data. If you dove over the weekend and you noticed the tingling starting on Tuesday afternoon, then it is almost certainly not related to decompression illness. How did the visit with the hyperbaric specialist go?

Best regards,
DDM

Very kind of you to follow up! He also concluded that it wasn’t related to DCS and did some quick tests (checking knee reflex, strength on both limbs etc.) and referred me to a neurologist. He’s as perplexed as I am, as I only started noticing these symptoms since starting scuba, and they usually start to occur on the last day of my dive trips (usually anywhere between 4-24h after my last dive, but this time it occurred 48h later). Neurology appointment is scheduled for early Sept, until then I think I’m going to dive as usual but with Nitrox (because I still have a small pulmonary shunt, I want to err on the side of caution, but I don’t want to pause diving if the symptoms are unlikely to be related to DCS). I’ll provide more updates as they come!
