Welcome to diving and we should meet up and do some dives. I do know some ASL, so it would be fun.

that has to be awesome being able to communicate underwater like that! takes forever for my buddy to break out his dive slate, write a message i can read, then me write back... takes forever! maybe we should learn asl! could we speak effectively if we just learned the letters and not the phrases or would that take us just as long as writing on the slate?

Thanks for the warm welcome, folks. :) My wife and I were PADI OW certified yesterday! Phew. :)
So why are you here?
Are you at work?
If not.. Get out and dive! :rofl3:

Oh, and congratulations on your cert and welcome to the board!

welcome and applauding you and your wife with hands in the air.

Welcome!

Dive buddies both fluent in ALS...
That has got to be SO AWESOME.

That makes you divers with superpowers. :bang:

Many many times I've seen hearing divers just staring at each other with blank looks of bewilderment because neither knows what the other wants to express.
