Deco harness tiny metal piece?

I recently purchased the deco sidemount harness and it came with a little triangular piece of metal. It was in the bag with the bungee so it may have something to do with setting up a loop system. However, the included bungee doesn’t fit through the hole in the metal. Attached photo shows a smaller diameter bungee in the hole. Can anyone explain what the metal piece is used for? Thanks!

Pretty sure it's used to secure the wing bungees together in front but most folks use a boltsnap.

It fits through the semi-triangular hole in the "tail double D" to secure the bottom of the wing to the crotch strap.
