Dive travel wholesaler Cheryl Patterson, founder and owner of Deep Blue Adventures, invites all travel sellers to make booth 1130 their first stop at the show but not for the reasons you would think.  
"We have over 100 DEMA Specials in one place, including a number of exclusive specials and unique bonuses, and we can book airfare on the show floor to and from anywhere in the world. What we ARE doing at DEMA is what we have been doing consistently since our inception almost a decade ago and what we were created to do - provide a support system dedicated to the success, growth and general well-being of the local dive store which we have always believed is the cornerstone of our industry.
At the end of the day there are a dozen ways to book the exact same package to your choice of resorts. The difference is in how we identify and handle the details leading up to that booking, how we handle our customers throughout their journey, and in how we treat them when they get back. How full and profitable the trips are before you leave, and how successful they were with your customers when they return depends largely on who and how you choose to handle the details. The key to that includes a huge range of factors - not just choosing the right resort for your customers but also the right options and inclusions at the best rates available. It requires making sound decisions - eliminating risk, selecting trustworthy operators, knowing the right time of year to go and getting all of these things at the greatest value for our clients while maximizing the profit and minimizing the risk to your business.
Some would ask about what risks there are; one issue that has plagued this industry I can whole-heartedly say we took a stand against from day one: to never solicit sales or directly engage a clients customers behind the scenes without direct consent of our client, and I'm proud to say that we never have. There are others out there who take a stand on this issue, but far more don't than do. But it's not only that type of commitment to our clients that sets us apart. It's 24/7 dedication to your needs, doing something we truly love to do, and putting our clients first above all else. Its the professionalism and quality of our expertise, and the guidance we can offer should you need it. It's answering the phone at 3AM when a storm has moved over your airport and handling the emergency to save your trip. You want to run the types of group trips your customers cannot find anywhere else and show them why you should be their single source for their independent dive trips.
