Was considering these issues and talked with Brando and Scot (GUE instructors) about them. Since I wont be taking DIRF till June but will be in FL next month for a week of diving, the best way for me to get into EAN is to take the PADI course (at the beginning of vacation). I still need at least 75 dives to qualify for Tech1 and want to do some of them on Nitrox. These guys agreed with this approach, and this is likely the only PADI training that I will do past OW, the rest being all GUE.
