I've read a lot of the older Cussler novels. I really enjoyed Night Probe, but some of the others like Deep Six and Raise the Titanic were good too. The later ones seem to have gone away from the original formula where it was a group of people with Pitt in the lead to Pitt saves everyone. That said I haven't read many of the more recent novels.

However I hope Cussler continues to rake in the money because he funds research to locate shipwrecks. Without him we may not have found the Hunley and may not know where the remains of the barge Maryland are. The Maryland was formerly known as the General Slocum before a huge fire costing hundreds of lives.
 
That has to be the best Cussler book I've read yet. I love an interactive adventure!!
