String:
Yes its in EPCOT.

If you've paid park admission they let you out back into the park.

You can amuse people in the restaurant in the living seas while swimming around (its glass walled).

Yup, it is in Epcot. In fact... according to the DMs... you can put the entire Epcot Ball inside The Living Seas tank, and still have 5 feet to swim around it! Amazing, huh!

You DON'T have to pay the park admission to do the Dive Quest... in fact, when you get to the parking area, if you say you have Dive Quest RSVP, then you don't even have to pay to park! They don't "tell you" that you can be free among the park afterward.... but they let you free in the gift shop and you can do what you want from there, as you are inside the park and without escort at from then on. Rod and I had free roam of the park. We walked around for about 30 minutes, but then headed out, just cause we had a 3 hour drive back to West Palm... and when we finished up with the Dive Quest it was already 7:30.

Debraw:
Wonderful report. This is definitely on my must do list in this lifetime.

Hey u I haven't seen you in a while. Get your booty over this way and we will go :D

Missdirected.... you live in Tampa... and haven't done this yet?!?!?

Girl... you just gotta do it! :) Make it a Christmas present for yourself!

Nope. That is why I appreciate your in depth report. Let me ask a couple more questions, if you don't mind. Can one do a morning dive? How long did the whole process take?

My bf will be bringing his kids here one day soon. So we will have to do the theme parks - just wondering if I brought someone to watch them for a bit if we would have time to sneak off and do this.

You are not the first to say it is at least a one time thing - some have said it is great but they wouldn't spend the money again. I think that is what keeps me heading to the ocean and buying a boat ticket.

No morning dive. 2 evening slots only.

Whole thing was about 2hrs or so for 40 minute dive.

I just read your report, thanks alot. :D I had called Epcot yesterday to see about doing it. So your report tells me I must do. For those who would like to view Epcot's video and slides of Dive Quest check out this site http://www.epcotdivequest.com/
Phone number 407-WDW-TOUR. They only have a 4:30pm and 5:30pm session, they do a 6:30pm for large groups.

I only live about 70 miles north of Epcot and had not heard of the diving in the tank. Their website says no camera of anykind however.

Thanks for your report and taking the time.

Dave

They did let me wear my Doc's proplugs when I did the dive.

Our experience took about 3 hours or so.... but we had a REALLY FUN group! From beginning to end. You will have fun interacting with your kids from inside the tank! The videographer even takes video of some of that and you'll see it (if yours isn't edited out) in the video they show later.

String is correct.... there is a 4:30 and 5:30 dive. I never did see the other group. It's funny how you "just miss" seeing them, cause you know they're there after your dive. LOL

I just did this dive two nights ago, and I cant wait to do it again...what an experience!!! And for anyone interested, this is a great report from start to finish. The entire staff there was very professional and courtious. My greatest moment was on the descent when i was looking down where I was going, I felt a swoosh and looked to my left shoulder and was starring at the 8' sandtiger sharks gills and pectoral fin only 2-3 inches away...what a way to start the dive! Actually, I love sharks but that was a little intimidating! Highly recommended for everyone!!!

Thank you (and everyone else) for the compliments on the dive report!

I'm glad you had fun! Rod and I can't wait to do it again! It's well worth the $$.

You had an up close and personal visit from a sand tiger, for sure! On our decent, we were watching the Loggerhead that was swimming about just a bit above us. That was cool.

Did the DM tell you the story (a while back... not recent, I don't think) about the 13 year old that wasn't watching where he was decending and landed on one of the brown sharks! Like literally... ready to ride it like a horse! The DM said the shark just kinda slowly swam out from under him... like it was not a problem! LOL The DM said the kid was totally shocked when he realized what he landed on!
