Kealakekua Bay is located on the Kona coast of the island of Hawaiʻi about 12 miles (19 km) south of Kailua-Kona.

Hawaii County crews search for missing scuba diver - Hawaii News - Honolulu Star-Advertiser
Hawaii Island firefighters are searching for a scuba diver last seen near the Kaawaloa light house.
A rescue boat and helicopter are taking part in the search two miles offshore, according to the Fire Department.
Scuba divers searched to the Captain Cook monument from 500 yards north of where the person was last seen. A ground search was also being conducted between those points.
The department listed high surf as the cause. The incident was reported by the department around 5:30 p.m.
