I think they were shore-diving and got swept 20 miles by the current, but it's not clear from the article. Staying together was wise.
The missing divers were found near Mpenjati this afternoon.

It’s believed that the four divers huddled together and drifted instead of panicking and trying to swim.


Emergency rescue teams began searching for divers since 09:00 this morning.

The South Coast Herald has received several reports today that four divers are currently missing off Shelly Beach.

At this stage, very little information is available and no official report has been released yet.

But what the Herald does know, so far, from reliable sources is that the divers went missing this morning at about 09:00.

Emergency personnel are on the scene and a search is currently taking place.

This is an evolving story which will be updated as soon as more information comes to light.
