Boliver: What kind of sea life did you spot the last time you dove the legs there???

It was a few weeks ago, the viz was sucky and not much life out there. I'm not sure how much it has improved, I've been sticking to boat trips lately.

Here is a video that my dive buddy made of the pass.... Shows a good variety of what you can see down there.

Ran through the area today, and believe the first 2-3 spans on the Eastern side of Perdido Bridge are diveable, but the dredging is still full bore, and no telling where they'll be kicking up sand tomorrow....

With the road open the Ft. Pickens Jetty is one of if not the best shore dive in the area. The best chance to see things I have never seen anywhere in Pensacola on any boat dive. It makes for one hell of a night dive. The viz can be bad and when it is boy is it bad, but with the many time I have dove this site an average of 10'-15' is about what you can expect. I love this dive and hope the place stays ok once the herds come back with the road now reopened. Enjoy the site but please everyone keep your fins out of the reef.

On Sunday (7-5-09) my son and I will be doing the Big O and most likely be back to port by early afternoon. Originally, My plane was to drive to Vortex and do a late afternoon/sw soak off and then stay over that evening before driving back to Texas Monday morning. It will be about an hours drive from Pensacola to Vortex, and that adds an hour to the Monday return. So, I am now thinking about driving West after the 'O' and getting a dive in late Sunday or early Monday before we head back.

Suggestions? Possibly the Alabama Point Jetties or similar?

TIA!!!
